The American Bar Association is a voluntary organization for the legal profession. The ABA investigates the qualifications of nominees for federal judgeships, publishes research studies on topics of legal and public interest, and grants accreditation [approval] to law schools in the United States. As a professional organization, the ABA offers continuing education courses for its members and issues practical information and opinions on government and legal policies.
